Yesterday, Apple announced support for Lossless Audio for Apple Music (sound without delay), but as it turned out, it is not supported by the top Cupertinos headphones.
What is known?
We are talking about AirPods Max and AirPods Pro. This was reported by the publication T3, referring to a representative of the company. The fact is that both models of headphones when connected to the iPhone use the Bluetooth codec AAC, while Lossless files in Apple Music will be encoded using ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec).

Perhaps in the future, Apple will release an update and activate ALAC support in the headphones. This, by the way, was hinted at by an insider and blogger John Prosser (Jon Prosser) from the Front Page Tech channel. In the meantime, the owners of AirPods Max and AirPods Pro will have to settle for Apple Music only with the Spatial Audio mode with Dolby Atmos.
