Apple recognized the problem of flexgate in MacBook Pro and promises free repair

MacBook Pro repair: Three years ago, MacBook Pro notebook users started complaining about problems with the screen. And only now, Apple finally responded to these complaints and acknowledged the guarantee case.

What is flexgate?

On the network, this problem has already managed to get the name  flexgate. And it is in the usual cable that connects the motherboard and display.

Each time you open the lid of the laptop, the cable was ground and damaged, and this had a bad effect on the display. More precisely, vertical bars appear at the bottom of the screen.

And because of Apple’s great love for glue, such a breakdown is expensive for users: the cable is firmly glued to the screen, so repairs cost as much as $ 600.

What to do?

IFixit specialists noticed that in  2018 MacBook Pro the cable was   mm longer, which, theoretically, could solve the problem of a cable. But until now the official information from  Apple has not been.

Now, the company claims that the very small percentage” of 13-inch MacBook Pro models sold from  October 2016 to  February 2018 suffer from this problem. Therefore, the service centers will be free to repair such damage.

If you have already spent on repairs  ask for compensation, the company promises to return the full amount.
