At the meeting, China Telecom demonstrated 5G innovative application development in ten vertical industries such as transportation, medical care, media, tourism, police, ecology, party building, car networking, education, manufacturing, etc.
China Telecom also launched with the Guangdong Provincial Government. Co-constructed 5G smart city groups assisted Dawan District development activities and signed cooperation agreements with 59 partners in the field of technology innovation, industry application, general business, 5G terminal manufacturers.

Adhere to SA as a 5G target networking architecture
3GPP proposes a variety of 5G and 4G interoperability solutions, including 5G SA networking and NSA networking. The SA scheme is 5G NR direct access to 5GC, the control signaling is completely independent of the 4G network, and the 5G network and the 4G network are coordinated through the core network interoperation; the NSA anchors the 5G control signaling to the 4G base station through 4G. The base station accesses the EPC or 5GC.
Xu Zhijun, vice chairman of Huawei, said at the meeting that there are two major needs in the Chinese market on 5G: eMBB (enhanced mobile broadband) and industry digitalization. “Industry digitization requires 5G SA”. Xu Zhijun emphasized that only the networking mode of SA can realize the three application scenarios of eMBB, mMTC and uRLLC, and finally achieve high rate (10Gbps), low latency (1ms) and large connection.
In fact, with the SA solution, the 5G network can support new features such as network slicing and MEC, which can better support vertical industry applications such as low latency and various industrial Internet.
At the same time, the SA solution can avoid frequent network transformation problems under the NSA scheme, and at the same time, the service capability is stronger and the terminal cost is low.
In 2018, China Telecom released the “China Telecom 5G Technology White Paper”, proposing the establishment of a SA-based, SA/NSA hybrid network cross-provincial cross-domain scale trial network.
Ke Ruiwen, chairman of China Telecom, announced at the meeting that China Telecom has now built a cross-provincial cross-scale scale trial network of SA-based and SA/NSA hybrid networks, which will be launched in 17 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. 5G innovation demonstration pilot.

For 2B customers, China Telecom has released many 5G innovative applications. It is reported that China Telecom’s 5G joint trial customers have exceeded 200, and 5G innovative application development in the top 10 vertical industries such as transportation, medical care, media, tourism, police, ecology, party building, car networking, education, and manufacturing.
