A week after the announcement of the ZenFone 8 series of smartphones, our colleagues from The Verge found out how long the Taiwanese manufacturer plans to support smartphones.
What is known?
Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip smartphones will receive at least two major operating system updates, according to a company spokesperson. Given that the devices run on Android 11 out of the box, therefore, they will definitely update to Android 12 and Android 13. As for the security patches, ASUS also plans to release them during the same period.
The Asus ZenFone 8 line includes two devices: the Asus ZenFone 8 and the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip. The base model received a compact 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4000 mAh battery with 30 W charging support, and a dual camera.
The ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip, in turn, features a rotary camera with three modules, and also boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 888 processor and a 5000 mAh battery with 30W charging.
