Amazon hosted their yearly hardware event for the year 2021. The firm, like in past years, introduced a flurry of products. New Echo Show models, flying security cameras, home robots, and more are among the items on the list.
Here’s a rundown of everything Amazon said at the event, including what may or may not be coming to India.
Every year, Amazon hosts its annual autumn hardware event, which took place last night. A vast range of gadgets were revealed during Amazon’s annual event in 2021, including a new Echo Show, flying security cameras, home robots, and more. All of the company’s announcements from the event are included here.
Astro home robot
Amazon’s last offering was the most unique at the event full of unusual products. This firm has developed an Alexa-enabled robot that can navigate your home. It serves three major purposes.
It protects your house, allowing you to keep an eye on your loved ones and pets, and offers you access to Alexa on the road. Astro will be available for $999.99 later this year, with a price increase to $1449.99 later in the year.
Halo View fitness band
Two significant Amazon announcements focused on the Halo fitness device. The Halo View fitness band was first unveiled by the business. Amazon’s Halo wearable now has an AMOLED colour display, making it more affordable.
It doesn’t have a tone-detecting microphone like its predecessor, but it can still track your heart rate, skin temperature, steps, and other metrics. Halo View will cost $80 when it is launched. It is not yet available for purchase until then.
Halo unveiled Halo Fitness and Halo Nutrition, as well as new devices, as part of its monthly $80 membership. Halo Fitness is a fitness app that competes with Apple Fitness+ and other comparable services.
Halo Fitness does not include meal planning or recipes, but Apple Fitness+ does. Halo Fitness will be available later this year, while Halo Nutrition will be available in the beginning of 2022.
Echo Show 15
Another Echo Show model has been added to Amazon’s inventory. Users will be able to install the new addition on walls in kitchens and other areas with a similar 1080p quality, according to the firm.
Alexa widgets have been updated to be more visible on the Echo Show 15’s home screen. Smart displays have a camera, and when the device identifies your face, it will tailor the contents of the home screen to your preferences. Later this year, the $250 Echo Show 15 will be available.
Ring and Blink video door bells
Each of Amazon’s home security companies, Ring and Blink, has its own section on the site. The Ring Alarm Pro, which includes Eero Mesh WiFi, and Blink’s $50 video doorbell are two of the section’s highlights.
Ring has also started taking sign-ups for its Always Home Cam surveillance drone, which company initially unveiled around this time last year.
Amazon Smart Thermostat
The Amazon Smart Thermostat is an Energy Star-certified thermostat that works with most 24V heating and cooling systems. Alexa, Amazon’s speech assistant, is also integrated.
The new smart thermostat costs $59.99 and is currently available for pre-order in the United States. Customers who qualify for utility rebates can obtain the gadget for $10 or free.
Glow for video chats
At Amazon’s annual event, Glow was named the second-most unusual device. It may be used for video conferencing by children. For all of the games and activities featured, the gadget comes with a projector that can create a 19-inch touch-sensitive play area.
According to Amazon, the price of Glow is just for a limited time. In a few weeks, the gadget will be available for $249.99.
Ring Alarm Pro and Ring Edge
A built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router is included with the Ring Alarm Pro home security system. It provides professional monitoring and online threat protection through its alarms and motion detectors.
In addition, Amazon introduced Ring Edge, a service that allows customers to put a microSD card into their gear to store and process movies.
Ring Edge is available for $3 per month with Protect Plan. Ring Alarm Pro will set you back $249.99.
Amazon also launched Ring Jobsite Security, which allows users to hire a professional security firm to monitor their Ring cameras, as well as Ring Virtual Security Guard, which allows customers to hire a professional security company to monitor their Ring cameras.
Blink Doorbell, Floodlight Cam, & Blink Solar Panel Mount
The new Blink Video Doorbell from Amazon has HD video, night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, and Alexa notifications, among other capabilities.
Blink Floodlight Cam, which works with Blink Outdoor Camera and includes a battery-powered LED floodlight, was also introduced. At their hardware presentation, Amazon also unveiled the Blink Solar Panel Mount.
A Blink Video Doorbell will set you back $49.99, while a Blink Floodlight Cam would set you back $130.98. A Blink Solar Panel Mount is available for $129.98. All three items are available for pre-order in the United States.
Ring Always Home Cam
Last year, Amazon unveiled the Ring Always Home Cam indoor flying camera. In the United States, Ring Always Home Cam is now available for $249.99 on an invite-only basis. The Ring Always Home Cam, as you may recall, hovers around your house in a predetermined pattern to show you what’s going on.
Ring’s app allows for control and may even build up routes when specific situations occur. When Always Home Cam is docked, its camera is hidden and it only records when it moves.
On-device voice processing delivers privacy-friendly enhancements with the 4th-generation Echo and EchoShow 10 speakers. Amazon will soon provide consumers in the United States the option of executing Alexa voice commands locally rather than sending them to the cloud.
Alexa will be able to learn your preferences in the future, such as your dietary requirements. Next year, users will be able to teach Alexa to identify unique sounds. Alexa can send you a notification (which is clever) if it hears the refrigerator beeping and you fail to close it.
Alexa Together was launched by Amazon as a solution to assist elderly family members. It allows you to call a professional emergency hotline without having to use your hands. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Third-party devices are also capable of detecting falls. Later this year, the service will be available. After six months of free service, Care Hub customers get a one-year trial for $19.99. A six-month free trial is offered to new customers.
Furthermore, Amazon debuted Hey Disney, an Alexa-based voice assistant created in collaboration with Disney. It will be accessible on Echo devices shortly, allowing you to engage with Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars characters.
In the near future, an ultrasonic motion detection function will be enabled to Echo devices. The function will come in useful if you lose service when away from your TV. Ringer cameras in your house may also be customised by creating specific event notifications.
Amazon Kids+ Fresh Content
The number of titles introduced since last year was also highlighted as part of Amazon Kids+. Do, Re, and Mi, the new Super Spy Ryan mobile game, ARPO Robot Babysitter, LEGO Monkie Kid, and Blippi’s Treehouse are among the new shows coming to Amazon Kids Plus.
The announcements at Amazon’s autumn hardware event have come to a close. While there were several goods on display, the Astro home bot stood out in the show. Is there a product that you particularly enjoy? Do share your thoughts in the comments section below.
