FCC certification Asus Zenfone 6 (Z) confirms Snapdragon 855 chipset

FCC certification Asus Zenfone 6: An Asus smartphone with the model number I01WD has been tested by the FCC. And as often happens, this means that more specifications are on the table.

The model number I01WD is probably from the Asus Zenfone 6 or 6Z, the smartphone of the Taiwanese company that will be presented next month.

Snapdragon 855 chipset

The expected smartphone from Asus received FCC certification yesterday. After this certification, various documents are published that provide more information, including information on radiation.

In most documents, nothing special is mentioned, but in one of the documents, the SM8150 processor is mentioned. And that is the Snapdragon 855 chipset.

The Asus Zenfone 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset while the Zenfone 5Z is equipped with the Snapdragon 845 chipset.

This makes it more obvious that the model number I01WD belongs to the Asus Zenfone 6Z.

Dual camera

In addition, a simple drawing of the smartphone is shown in one of the documents with information about the FCC label. A double camera can be seen on this, with the fingerprint scanner underneath.

So it seems that the Asus Zenfone 6 does not get an in-display fingerprint scanner, but a traditional scanner on the back. Furthermore, the documents show that the device has dual-sim functionality and charges 18W.

The smartphone with the model number I01WD has already been spotted in two benchmarks. It shows that it has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Although the screen size is unknown, one of these benchmarks shows a FullHD + resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Asus Zenfone 6 will be unveiled on May 16 in Valencia.
