Following OPPO: Vivo expanded Android OS and security updates for 3 years for future X series smartphones

The other day we wrote that OPPO is expanding support for the flagship Find X3 smartphones. Now a similar solution has been announced by the related company Vivo.

What is known?

Vivo today revealed that for the new flagship X series launching after July 2021, it will have three years of massive Android OS enhancements and protection updates.

The company went on to say that it wants to continue to enhance the high-end mobile experience provided by the X series smartphones by maintaining constant updates focused on changing market preferences and innovative new software technologies.

The European, Australian, and Indian markets are covered by vivo’s latest upgrade policy for the forthcoming X series tablets. The premium X series models that are not qualifying will continue to receive monthly Android security updates, according to the manufacturer.

The company said, “This commitment is part of vivo’s ongoing efforts to bring new products and joy-inspired experiences to consumers,”.

By the way, Samsung has also recently expanded the support program for its devices, but up to 4 years.

Featuring top of the line hardware, the X series flagship phones are built to last – and we want to make sure that our customers get software support that lives up to their expectations. We always innovate with the user in mind. With this pledge, we are making a promise to our customers that they will be able to enjoy a premium smartphone experience for an extended period and continue to benefit from the latest software features.” said Yujian Shi, Senior vice president and CTO of Vivo
