Google: Android Oreo share increased to 28%, and Android Pie installed on just 10% of devices

Android Oreo share increased to 28%: Ater six months of the lull, Google released other statistics on the distribution of versions of the Android operating system. Data was collected throughout the week until May 7th.

What is known?

According to updated information, Android 9 Pie is installed on just 10.4% of devices. This is despite the fact that the stable version of the OS came out nine months ago.

The share of Android Oreo (versions 8.0 and 8.1) increased to 28.3%. For comparison, in the penultimate report, which was released in October 2018, “cookies” was at around 21.5%.

Android Oreo share increased

All other versions of the operating system show a rapid decline, which in principle is logical: Android Nougat 19.2% (was 28.2%), Android Marshmallow 16.9% (was 21.3%) Android Lollipop 14.5% (was 17.9%) and Android KitKat 6.9% (was 7.6 %).

Recall, Google has already released a beta version of Android Q, but a stable release of the system is scheduled for only 3 quarter of this year. Most likely, we will see the first statistics with her at the beginning of 2020.
