Huawei MatePad Pro (2021) Launched: 10.8 and 12.6-inch displays, Snapdragon 870 or Kirin 9000E chips, Harmony OS and 5G support

Together with the Watch 3 smartwatch, Huawei also showed the MatePad Pro (2021) tablet at the June 2 presentation. The novelty has received a version with a screen of 12.6 and 10.8 inches.

Huawei MatePad Pro (2021) at 12.6 inches will compete with the Galaxy Tab S and iPad Pro tablets. The novelty is equipped with an OLED panel with a resolution of 2560 × 1600p, but unlike competitors, it has a standard scan rate of 60 Hz. The screen got thin bezels. A front camera was placed on one of them. The panel covers 100% DCI-P3 color space and supports the M-Pencil as well as HDR10 content playback.

The novelty was equipped with a triple camera with a separate depth sensor, eight Harman Kardon speakers and four microphones for picking up voice at a distance of up to 5 meters. Powered by a 12.6-inch MatePad Pro (2021) running a proprietary Kirin 9000E chip paired with 8 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of ROM and an integrated 5G modem. The device is powered by a 10000 mAh battery. It should be enough for 14 hours. The tablet supports 40W wired charging, 27W wireless charging and 10W reversible charging.

Like the Huawei Watch 3 smartwatch, the tablet will ship out of the box with the proprietary Harmony OS 2.0 operating system. It is specially optimized for the large screen and has a horizontal interface with an application dock at the bottom. The system supports mouse operation and can interact with the company’s smartphones. Thanks to this, calls and messages are displayed on the tablet. You can also quickly transfer images and other files between your tablet and smartphone .

In addition to the reduced diagonal of the display, the younger model of the tablet received an IPS-panel with a resolution of 2560 × 1600p and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The novelty is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chip. By the way, this is the first Huawei device with a Qualcomm processor on board in a long time. Of the differences, it is also worth noting the reduced battery to 7250 mAh. Naturally, like the older model, the Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 “comes with Harmony OS 2.0 on board.

Price and when to expect?

The 12.6-inch Huawei MatePad Pro (2021) should appear in Europe soon for 799 euros. The 10.8-inch model will be released a little later and will cost around 500 euros.
