Instagram updated: no likes, but with donations and a new camera interface

Instagram updated: At a conference for F8 developers, Facebook announced several innovations for the Instagram app.

What’s new?

Firstly, Instagram has a new interface during photo and video shooting. The post can now be created without leaving the camera mode. Below added scroll wheel modes, stickers, and other effects. The new interface promises to launch in the next couple of weeks.

Secondly, a sticker for donations was added to the stories. As a result, users will be able to send money for the needs of a particular non-profit organization in one click. All money collected will be sent to this organization.

To take advantage of the new feature, you just need to create a “ story”, add a special sticker for donations and indicate the organization. You can also add stickers, photos, captions, etc.

Thirdly, Instagram intends to develop trade within its platform and added the ability to mark shoes, clothes, accessories and other products in the pictures. To make a purchase, you just need to click on the image and follow the link. This innovation will start testing next week.

In addition, as we wrote earlier, Instagram wants to remove the likes counter under posts, so that users are concerned with the content itself, and not how many likes it collects. The new interface will be tested in Canada.
