iPadOS restricts new iPad Pro tablets with M1 chips, with Apple doing so on purpose

The developer of graphics and design application Artstudio Pro on the Procreate forum drew attention to the limitations that Apple has set in the new iPad Pro tablets with M1 processors.

Memory is not a lot happens

So, regardless of the configuration, the application can not use more than 5 GB of RAM, and these limitations are inherent in the iPadOS operating system. Attempting to use more memory will cause the application to crash.

And this applies to both iPad Pro 8GB and with 16 GB of RAM. Of course, 5 GB – and so rather big amount, but all is learned in comparison, has a limit of last year’s Pro the iPad 4,5 GB, but in them the amount of RAM is only 6 GB.

In any case, developers can not fully unleash the potential of the available hardware, namely the M1 chip. People have been arguing about that iPadOS not in full use of the potential of the iPad Pro, and now it seems more relevant than ever.
