With only a few hours to go until its official announcement, the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro continues to receive new teasers with details of the features that will be integrated into the new gamer phone of the brand.
After seen in real images leaked before, the phone has its design confirmed by the manufacturer itself, in addition to having some more news announced.
As the leaks showed, the Legion 2 Pro arrives with a slightly more sober look than its predecessor, exchanging the most striking colors for black or white, with a metal structure that extends to the rear of the device.
The most prominent point is the grass strip in the middle of the back, with a dark tint next to black, which houses the rear cameras and the LED flash.
The region also has the Legion line logo, equipped with configurable RGB lighting, and the main highlight of the device: one of the fans that make up the Legion 2 Pro cooling system.
Following teasers previously released by Lenovo, this fan is responsible for the exhaustion of hot air, accompanied by openings positioned just below the fan through which the air will enter.
A curious point that is not yet clarified by the official images is whether the rear central strip of the new Legion is in fact thicker than the rest of the cell phone.
It is possible to notice that the region appears to be a little bumpy compared to other areas, but it is not clear whether this is really the case, or if this is just an optical illusion caused by the finish of the device.
Lenovo Legion 2 Pro design and colors / Linear motors and gaming triggers
The new teasers confirm two aspects that are very welcome for gamers on duty: the presence of gaming triggers in the phone’s frame, as well as the use of dual linear motors for the vibration system.
The first one is self-explanatory, being very common in newer gamer’s smartphones. These are configurable capacitive surfaces that register the user’s touch to act as an extra button in games.
Meanwhile, in a very simplified way, linear motors on the X-axis offer more powerful and precise vibration when using movement in only one direction, different from motors traditionally used in smartphones.
Instead of turning a small weight to generate the haptic response, the linear motor moves the weight quickly from side to side.
Lenovo Legion 2 Pro Specification
Legion 2 Pro has Snapdragon 888 and active cooling
Gathering information from official leaked teasers, it is already known that the Legion 2 Pro will hit the market equipped with a Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM, and up to 512 GB of storage.
There is also a 6.92 inch AMOLED screen with 144 Hz refresh rate and 720 Hz touch sampling, 44 MP front pop-up camera, 64 MP rear main camera capable of recording at up to 8K at 30 FPS, and battery 5,500 mAh with fast charging of 90W.
The biggest highlight of the device is the cooling system, which uses two fans combined with a steam chamber to keep the processor under control.
Although the active cooling solution is not exactly new, it is the first time that it has dual fans on a smartphone. The Legion 2 Pro will be made official on Thursday, at 8:30 am in Brasília time.
