Korean electronics maker LG has been having problems with the mobile division for several years. Because of this, the company now had to take a serious step.
What is known?
According to Reuters, referring to the news agency Yonhap News, LG stops the production of smartphones at home in South Korea. It will be fully transferred to the already existing plant in Vietnam.
Such a solution will help reduce company costs and slightly optimize the mobile business. According to analysts, the Korean plant accounts for about 10-20% of the production of all devices. Basically, these are flagship smartphones.
Naturally, LG is not going to leave the mobile business, despite the low sales. The manufacturer will continue to compete with other players in the market.
Recall that at the exhibition MWC 2019, the company introduced two flagship smartphones LG G8 ThinQ and LG V50 ThinQ 5G.
