Microsoft banned April Fools jokes to their employees

Tomorrow on April 1 April Fools’ Day will come in many countries. Every year, IT-companies with pleasure troll journalists and their users, sending humorous press releases or frivolous posts in social networks.

But in this year’s Microsoft, which has always actively participated in the Day of laughter, decided to abandon the April Fools jokes. Microsoft banned April Fools jokes.

What happened

Microsoft Marketing Director Chris Capossela sent out a letter to employees asking them to drop the  April 1 lottery. Of course, no one forbids them to laugh at friends and relatives, but any jokes and jokes in public are prohibited.

Chris Capossela explained that, according to statistics, such jokes have a limited positive effect.  I  appreciate the fact that people spend their time and energy preparing for this day, but   believe that we can lose more than win, trying to be funny that day.

This is the time of year when technology companies are trying to show their creativity with jokes. Sometimes the results are funny and sometimes not. In any case, the data tell us that these jokes have a limited positive impact and can actually lead to undesirable news in network  stressed the director of marketing.

Recall, April 1, 2013, Microsoft has changed the design of the Bing search engine firm, and he was on the day was similar to  Google. And in 2015, the company allegedly released the MS-DOS emulator for the Windows Phone mobile operating system.
