Microsoft has released the Edge browser on the Chromium engine: Microsoft last year promised to release its Edge browser based on the Chromium engine. And finally, the company did it.
What is known?
The novelty has come out so far for developers in two versions: Dev Channel and Canary Channel. In the near future, Microsoft will also release a more stable beta version of the browser.
Thanks to the Chromium engine, the new browser is faster. There are no major changes as compared with the regular Edge, but in future updates they promise to add a dark mode, an integrated file reader, a translator, a “fast scrolling” function and much more.
Where can I download?
New Edge can already be downloaded on the official website. It is currently only compatible with Windows 10. Later versions for Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and macOS will appear.
