Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple plans to use sub-screen camera and Face ID sensors in 2023 iPhone lineup

While everyone is discussing the latest iPhone 13 leaks, Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published another report in which he told the company’s plans for future iPhone models.

What is known?

According to Kuo, Apple plans to get rid of the bangs entirely in the 2023 iPhone models. That is, the front camera, as well as sensors for the Face ID face recognition system, will be installed under the screen. How exactly the company’s engineers are going to implement this is difficult to say at the moment.

Interestingly, the Chinese analyst also believes that Apple will use a new wide-angle camera sensor and a periscope sensor in its smartphones in two years. It will greatly improve the capabilities of optical zoom. For example, the current iPhone 12 lineup has a maximum of 2.5x optical zoom and 12x digital. For comparison, competitors have 5x and 50-100x respectively.

By the way, Apple recently announced the presentation of new devices. The event will take place next week.
