The Moto G Fast has only been out for a year, but Motorola has already released a big Android update for the low-cost smartphone. Motorola has begun rolling out the widely awaited Moto G Fast Android 11 update in the United States, along with a new security patch.
One Reddit user Piunika was able to install the update successfully and also posted a changelog. The bad news is that the upgrade includes Google’s February patch, which is one of the year’s oldest security patches.
Nonetheless, given that the Moto G Fast was released in June, we anticipate Motorola to release at least one more big update, such as Android 12, which is expected to be released this month.
While several of Motorola’s mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones have already been upgraded to Android 11, several others, including the popular Moto G Power, have yet to receive the update.
Fortunately, Motorola’s Android 11 rollout to all Moto smartphones that apply for the update will be completed soon.
