Motorola, which is owned by Lenovo, has unveiled the Moto G50 5G in Australia. The model’s arrival in Australia follows weeks of anticipation, which saw the model surface in leaks and benchmark databases under the codename Saipan.
The new Moto G50 5G looks a lot like the model with the same name that was released in March of this year. This new G50, on the other hand, comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor instead of the Snapdragon 480 seen in earlier variant.
In terms of the back cameras and the position of the fingerprint sensor, the new model differs from its predecessor. Aside from these minor changes, the two Moto G50 models are identical in terms of fundamental specifications and design.
The Moto G50 5G is equipped with a 6.5-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. A 90Hz refresh rate is supported and a water drop notch design with a selfie camera of 13-megapixels is used.
The Motorola Moto G50 5G is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, as previously reported. A micoSD card may be used to extend the storage.
The device has a triple camera system on the back, with the cameras housed in a square-shaped module in the upper left corner of the camera. A 48-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth of field sensor make up the back camera.
Despite the presence of the renowned Motorola branding on the back, there is no fingerprint sensor. Instead, the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner on the side.
The phone runs on the newest Android 11 operating system, with Motorola’s My UX as an overlay. A large 5,000mAh battery with 15W quick charging capability keeps the lights on. The G50 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as NFC compatibility.

The Moto G50 5G is available for purchase for AUD 399 (US$289). In Australia, the phone will be available in different variants: Meteorite Gray and Green.
