Not a pandemic: Huawei says the US is to blame for the global chip shortage

In recent years in the observed deficiency of chips the world, which has led, in the first place, to the rise in prices. According to the analysts say, to this pandemic resulted coronavirus, but at Huawei’s another view.

Huawei says The USA is to blame

Eric Xu, chairman of Huawei, said at the 18th analyst summit that the chip shortage was caused by US sanctions. Recall that the American government, referring to national security issues, included Huawei and other American companies in the “black list”, limiting their access to American technologies.

According to a Huawei spokesman, due to the sanctions, technology companies began to buy semiconductors, which led to their shortage. Now they are making supplies for 3 or even 6 months in advance, although this has practically never happened before.

Clearly the unwarranted U.S. sanctions against Huawei and other [Chinese] companies are creating an industry-wide supply shortage, and this could even trigger a new global economic crisis,

Eric Xu

In addition, according to him, more and more companies are striving to create their own chips so as not to depend on anyone, which requires huge investments. This can affect the cost of such semiconductors and the final product.

As for Huawei, the company is looking for a way out . The reserves are still sufficient, but , of course, they will not be enough for a long time .
