Google OS Fuchsia: At the developer conference, Google I / O 2019 Android head direction and Chrome OS Hiroshi Lockheimer talked with journalists and spoke for the first time about working on Fuchsia operating system.
What is it and why?
Rumors that Google is working on a new operating system, from time to time appeared on the network, but the company itself remained silent all the time. We only know that it is a project open source, and in contrast to Android, which runs on the Linux kernel, Fuchsia working on the core of its own production – Zircon mounted.
Hiroshi Lockheimer said that this is an experimental OS, which in no case is not developed to replace Android and Chrome OS. Simply, it is designed to work with different form factors and devices.
“We’re looking at what a new take on an operating system could be like. And so I know out there people are getting pretty excited saying, ‘Oh this is the new Android,’ or, ‘This is the new Chrome OS,’ Fuchsia is really not about that. Fuchsia is about just pushing the state of the art in terms of operating systems and things that we learn from Fuchsia we can incorporate into other products.” Lockheimer said(Representative of Google).
