Representatives of the company 4A Games shared the news that a major update of Metro Exodus will appear on Steam, Epic Games Store, Good Old Games and Microsoft Store on May 6.
What is known?
The developers added DLSS 2.0 support for NVIDIA graphics cards to the game, thereby increasing the image detail, frame rate, and screen resolution. Also, all light sources are now equipped with ray tracing.
You can’t disable retracing, so the game will only work on computers with a video card that supports this feature. Most likely, Metro Exodus will be the only game in the series with this technology — 4A said that there are no plans to add ray tracing to Metro Redux yet.
On Linux or Mac OS, you will not be able to launch a new version of the game: only Windows. But those who already have the original Metro Exodus will be able to get the updated one for free. By the way, players who are afraid of losing progress have nothing to worry about — all the improved versions for PC and consoles of the ninth generation now have the ability to unlock chapters.
