Surely, many have already heard about the global shortage of semiconductor products, which affects many areas, including the smartphone market. As it turned out, the consequences of the shortage have already been felt by Samsung.
What does it mean?
According to sources, the shortage of semiconductors hit one of the most popular series of the manufacturer-Galaxy A, whose devices offer good performance at an adequate price. Samsung has reportedly delayed the release of its Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72 in key markets due to manufacturing problems caused by a shortage of chips.
So, difficulties arose with the supply of Snapdragon 720G and Snapdragon 750G processors, which are used in smartphones. Without a reliable supply of these chips, Samsung will not be able to produce a steady stream of these devices. This leads to shortages in important markets.
Snapdragon 720G and 750G are also used in Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, and Motorola gadgets, but it is not yet known whether they have faced a shortage. It is also unclear whether this will affect other Samsung smartphone lines.
By the way, the company warned about the possible consequences of the deficit in a recent report for investors.
