Similar to Facebook, Twitter is working on more tweet reactions.

Twitter has apparently indicated that it is working towards enhancing its platform with richer reaction options. Jane Manchun Wong, the same researcher who recently tipped the internet about other Twitter features including its verification program, Tip Jar, and “Blue” premium membership, revealed the insider information. There is also a preview of how these novel reactions might appear. Only the “Hmm” and “Haha” reactions have proper icons at the moment. The “Like” symbol is used for “Cheer” and “Sad.”

The feature has reportedly been in testing for at least a couple of weeks, which is unsurprising considering that every new user interaction on a network like Twitter must be carefully considered. Something may be utilized for bullying or harassment, leading to a sticky situation.

Recently, Twitter has been on a feature expansion spree, with new features such as paid Super Follows and the Communities feature. Twitter just opened up its voice-only Spaces feature to more users this month, as well as introducing paid Ticketed Spaces. Overall, an interesting and continuous string of cautious but ambitious movements.
