Snap Inc reported on the quarterly success of its messenger. Snapchat almost regained its last year’s popularity, thanks to the latest update on Android.
According to the developers, in the first fiscal quarter of 2019, the audience of the messenger was 190 million active users, which is 4 million more than in the previous quarter.
The growth is due to the April update to Snapchat on Android. The application is completely rewritten taking into account the features of different smartphones. Users noted that the messenger began to work much faster, especially on budget models.
As for the company itself, in this quarter its revenues amounted to $ 320 million, which is 39% more than a year earlier. However, they are offset by an operating loss of $ 316 million, which was 24% less in 2018. If the positive momentum continues, Snap Inc will start making a profit relatively soon.
