The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition may have a simpler version with a Dimensity 1100 chip

At the end of April, Xiaomi introduced the first gaming smartphone of its Redmi sub-brand Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. And now there is information about another version.

What to expect?

According to insider information, we are waiting for another model. But if the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition uses a MediaTek Dimension 1200 processor, then its “lite” version should get a Dimension 1100.

The difference between the two chipsets is hardly significant: the Dimension 1100 doesn’t have a single core Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3.0 GHz, like the Dimension 1200. Instead, a fourth large A78 core is used, clocked at 2.6 GHz. Both feature a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU and are based on a 6-nanometer manufacturing process.

So it will be the so-called Lite version, which is likely to be cheaper. According to an insider, the smartphone will have a “leaky” display with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. Hopefully, it will keep the 120Hz refresh rate, support for HDR10+, and support for 67W fast charging.
