Xiaomi is rumored to be working on its next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 12. We already learnt that the phone would be powered by a top Snapdragon processor and may have improved cameras. According to a fresh leak, the gadget would come with faster LPDDR5X RAM.
The JEDEC has unveiled the new LPDDR5X RAM, which has a maximum transfer rate of 8,533 Mbps. This is significantly faster than the previous model’s data throughput of 6,400 Mbps. While current Snapdragon processors only support LPDDR4 or LPDDR5 RAM, future Snapdragon chips are expected to support X-series RAM as well.
Taking this into account, Xiaomi is believed to be the first phone manufacturer to use LPDDR5X RAM in its future phones. According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi 12 would be powered by LPDDR5X RAM and a premium Snapdragon chipset.
According to previous rumors, the Mi 12 would be powered by a Snapdragon 895 soc. However, the Mi 12 is now expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 processor. The Snapdragon 898, for those who are unaware, will be the successor to the existing Snapdragon 888 and will be built on a 4nm process.
This indicates that the Xiaomi Mi 12 will have greater power, quicker RAM, and stronger 5G connection. Furthermore, the Mi 12 is said to offer a staggering 200W rapid charging technology. A 200MP primary camera, as well as additional lenses, are expected to be included in the phone.
These specifications appear to be extremely appealing. However, the speculations regarding the smartphone are still in their early stages. As we get closer to the smartphone’s release later this year, we anticipate to see several fascinating features.
