Xiaomi has secretly launched the Redmi 10 smartphone. The device is currently only available in Malaysia. However, it is expected to spread to other markets in the following days.
The successor to the Redmi 9 comes with a slew of new features. Let’s take a closer look at the phone’s specifications, as well as its price and availability.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 Specifications
The Redmi 10’s specifications match the press release that Xiaomi accidentally released a few days ago. The smartphone has a new design that matches the Redmi Note 10 series.
The phone is made of plastic and is available in three different colours: Carbon Gray, Pebble White, and Sea Blue. The matte finish is seen on the first two colour versions, while the glossy finish is found on the third.
The item weighs 181g and has dimensions of 161.95 x 75.53 x 8.92mm.
A 6.5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, AdaptiveSync refresh rate (45Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz), and a centred punch-hole are featured on the Redmi 10.
Reading mode 3.0 and Sunlight display are both supported by the panel.
It also has a MediaTek Helio G88 CPU with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In terms of software, the phone runs MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11.
On the back, the gadget has a quad-camera array with a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, though, it has an 8MP camera.
Dual-SIM, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS (GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS), USB Type-C connector, and 3.5mm headphone jack are among the smartphone’s connection features.
A side-mounted fingerprint sensor, twin stereo speakers, a MicroSD card slot, and an IR blaster are among the phone’s other features. Finally, it has a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging (22.5W charger supplied in the package) and 9W reverse charging capabilities.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 Price & Availability
Xiaomi has only released the Redmi 10 price in Malaysia thus far. The 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB editions of the smartphone will cost RM649 ($153) and RM749 ($177) in Malaysia, respectively.
It’s worth mentioning that the 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB storage options are priced at $179, $199, and $219, respectively, according to Xiaomi’s official press release.
From August 20, it will be available for purchase.
Because Malaysian prices are lower, the price tags indicated in the formal release could be for Europe or for the worldwide average.
However, we anticipate Xiaomi releasing the Redmi 10 in more markets soon. It’s possible that, like its predecessor, it’ll be dubbed Redmi 10 Prime in India.
