Samsung began rolling out Android 12 and One UI 4.0 to its first-generation foldable phones last month. The update is now going out to Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip unlocked models in the USA.
The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip in the United States received the Android 12 upgrade earlier this month.
The unlocked Galaxy Z Flip receives the Android 12 update with firmware version F700U1UEU4FUL9 in the United States of America. With firmware version F900U1UEU6GUL9, the unlocked Galaxy Fold in the United States receives the Android 12 upgrade.
Almost all carrier networks in the US are currently receiving these updates, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, C-Spire, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The update also includes the January 2022 security patch, which addresses serious flaws.
If you live in the United States and own a Galaxy Fold or Galaxy Z Flip, you can check for the Android 12 update by going to Settings ยป Software update and choosing Download and install. You may also manually flash the newest firmware file by downloading it from SamMobile’s firmware database.
What is new in the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip Android 12 update?
The One UI 4.0 version is based on Android 12 and contains a redesigned UI with Material You-based Color Palette, new widget style, and enhancements to AoD and Dark Mode.
By displaying privacy indications while the phone is using the camera or microphone, it also improves privacy and security. Toggle fast settings to disable camera and microphone access throughout the system. A privacy dashboard is also available.
All of Samsung’s stock applications and widgets have also been upgraded. The One UI 4.0 upgrade also adds new functionality to Flex Mode. New features have been added to Bixby and Bixby Routines, as well as accessibility improvements. There are a number of other enhancements across the system.
