Xiaomi 12 series offers the compact smartphone, which was introduced in 2022, but it wasn’t enough for Xiaomi. Along with the original Xiaomi 12, the company decided to unveil another compact phone: the Xiaomi 12X. It’s still a high-end smartphone with a compact design, but it’s now even more inexpensive than the flagship.
The Motorola Edge S30, a smartphone from the same range, appeared even in the previous Motorola series, but it may be called the polar opposite because it is a large phablet.
This is a comparison of one of the smallest flagship killers with one of the largest, and we feel it will be valuable for many gamers and power users seeking a new phone without spending a lot.

Camera
The Xiaomi 12X has a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical stabilization, making it a strong photography phone. Due to its weaker 108 MP primary sensor and lack of OIS, the Motorola Edge S30 is basically an ordinary phone when it comes to photography.
Both phones feature a 13 MP ultrawide camera and a macro sensor, however, the Xiaomi 12X has a superior macro camera with a 5 MP, and a selfie camera of 32 MP.
Display
As aforementioned, the Xiaomi 12X has a smaller display than the Motorola Edge S30, with a diagonal of just 6.28 inches. When compared to the current Motorola flagship killer, however, it is a far superior panel.
To begin with, it sports an OLED panel, which produces brighter colors and deeper blacks than its competitor. It also supports the Dolby Vision standard and the HDR10+ certification, allowing it to display up to one billion colors and increasing the visual quality of multimedia.
The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victusa and offers a 1080 x 2400 pixel Full HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and is covered.
The Motorola Edge S30 has a larger display with a diagonal of 6.8 inches and a higher refresh rate of 144 Hz. These are fantastic additional features for folks who want to work or play games on their phones.
However, if you want the highest image quality, this phone is not for you, as it sports an IPS display. The Xiaomi 12X includes an in-display fingerprint reader as well as dual speakers, whereas the Edge S30 does not.
Design
Because of its outstanding small form and excellent screen-to-body ratio, the Xiaomi 12X definitely wins the design competition. The Xiaomi 12X is easy to operate with one hand and fits nicely in a pocket, at least when compared to all other high-end phones on the market.
Even though it almost appears like a clone of the current Realme flagships, the camera module has a really nice design. Because of its smaller display and battery, the Xiaomi 12X is not only more compact but also thinner and lighter.
The Motorola Edge S30 is just too big, thick, and heavy for people looking for a good one-handed tablet.
Battery
The Motorola Edge S30 features larger dimensions, which allows for a larger battery, allowing it to last longer in a lot of circumstances.
The Xiaomi 12X features a smaller battery, but owing to 67W technology, it charges faster.
Hardware & Software
When it comes to hardware, the Motorola Edge S30 reigns supreme, and it’s a superior phone for people looking for the highest performance in the most complex settings.
It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 Plus mobile platform, which comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
Despite having the same RAM configuration as its competitor, the Xiaomi 12X is unable to compete as it’s driven by the Snapdragon 870, which is still a high-end mobile platform but falls short of the Snapdragon 888 Plus.
The fact that the Xiaomi 12X comes with Android 12 out of the box is a huge plus.
Price
In China, the Motorola Edge S30 costs at least €280 EUR / $320 USD / ₹23776 INR/, while the Xiaomi 12X costs €440 EUR / $502 USD / ₹37362 INR.
Despite the fact that the Edge S30 has a faster CPU, a larger battery, and a larger display, the 12X has better cameras, faster charging, and a better display.
If you’re a gamer, though, purchasing the Motorola flagship makes more sense as it offers better value for investment.
