By the volume of shipments, Samsung still tops the smartphone manufacturer list. Its customized layer on top of Android has been strongly criticized in the past, in recent years company has made efforts and come up with their best new interface named One UI based on Android Pie.
Samsung has suggested that three years after its release, in its latest publication about security, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will continue to receive security updates. Earlier in March, both smartphones have received the security patches and from now onwards, the phones will get updates every three months, instead of once a month as it has been until now.
While the Galaxy S10+ / S10 / S10e, Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy S8 / S8 + / S8 Active, Galaxy S9 / S9 +, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A8 (2018) will continue to receive monthly updates.
Galaxy S7 / S7 edge has been excluded from the list of devices that will receive Android Pie but, at least, it will continue to receive security updates for longer.
